It looks like the donor Dodge was lifted, based on the control arm angle... But it's hard to say, they sit stupid tall from the factory. I could measure the current compressed length of the springs on my (very similar) Dodge if it would help you? What's your plans for the radiator and intercooler?

Theres 4" blocks between the rear axle and springs, so even if I could find a set of 4" lowering Springs I feel it would be perfect.
Thanks for the pic. It seemed I had to jump to slide into the drivers seat of the Dodge, and I'm 6' tall...
Oh, the tires in the photos are 285/16s.

I don't believe anyone makes lowering coils for the 4wd trucks... But, guys would swap the 4wd 1500 coils in and it would give them 'about a 2" drop.' I don't think anyone measured anything when they did it, just eyeballed it. The 1500 coils are pretty soft, so I think a guy could nip a coil wrap off them and get another inch or two out of it and bring the spring rate back up... Might be worth playing with if you've got some cheap junkyard coils around (or find guys with 1500 trucks that have been installing lifts). Ditching the stupid block in the rear is a good idea either way. I had figured if I ditched them, but wanted to stay at the same height, I would order a shackle flip kit from Ruffstuff or ORD or whoever happens to be selling one that would work.

My '98 3/4 ton Diesel short bed was too high in the back so I added those 2" urethane spring seats in the front. Leveled it out pretty good. Lately I've been thinking about removing them and taking 2" off the blocks.

The thing I've always hated about that series of Dodges is the wheel openings are too high, especially if you run stock tires.

              Intercooler mock up...

I did 1" spacers between the hinge and hood for venting. At times, the hood would dance side to side nicely. I found where it was flexing...

What will they do to your wheelbase? Wheels won't sit too far forward?

Interesting. Wonder what the spring rate on them is compared to stock?

The original lenses are broken in about 3-5 spots/pieces and I constantly worried about how dim they were. A set of clears over these is what I would like to do, eventually...

The springs were from a company that has a reputation. There was a link I followed to their site and saw the details, but don't have have them in front of me. No worries on axle placement, it shouldn't be enough to care about.

But may i ask as what is this going to be registered when it's road worthy ,still as a J-truck ,or is it going to be a Dodge?

I wanted to upgrade the turn signals on the front of the J-20 and the buggie guys are using these. I got an idea and threw it together today. Grabed some rigid steel... Did some cutting... My idea was to pinch the valance with the lens and the plates I made... Over all I am very pleased with it. I am

Why does it seem like most diesel build threads get interrupted and put on hold?!?!?!
Just found out I am going to have to move out of this house after 11 years. Luckily the truck is at a buddy's shop so it won't have to be shuffled around, but, that means I won't have any "free" time until I figure out where we're going to land. Bear with me, I'll be back at it ASAP...
