    Tailgate hinge Questions

OK, my left side hingepin on my tailgate is busted. I've tried to 'finesse' the pin out to replace it (while attached to GW).

    1) Is it possible to drive out the hinge pin?
    2) Has anyone removed the hinges without experiencing a hernia from trying to hold the gate at the same time?
    3) What are the pitfalls, tricks, etc.

    Any help truly appreciated.

I've switced my tailgate before. Those hinges and springs suck! (they're heavy duty, but man they're a pain) I recommend just getting another hinge off of a parts rig. I mean, how much could a junk yard charge for a hinge.
