What to build, what to build...

So a member on the forum here is doing the greatest thing anyone could ever do: giving me a J20. For a buck. A dollar.
Rustywagoneers has agreed to assist in towing it home from Wisconsin, so a dream of mine (aren't free Jeeps anyone's dream?) is literally coming true.

Now, back on October 7th, around the time we were finishing up the motor swap on my wag, I was in a Jeep-killing car accident. Long story short, a woman ran a red light and t-boned me doing about fifty, right in the DS door. In a Kia. A Killed In Action.
Luckily no one WAS killed in action.
I was driving an XJ (my mothers), and found out that day that XJ's save lives.

Anyway, after all of the rigamorole, my mother got about 6k for her Jeep (which I thought was ridiculous, given all the other 2001 XJ's with less than 100k went for at LEAST 7) and put a healthy down payment on this:

So now, I'm presented with an interesting situation.

My back has sustained serious enough injury from the latest accident to receive a (hopefully) substantial settlement. If I'm a really lucky "googley moogley" I might be able to use some of that toward a build...I'm also getting around 60 average hours a week (as a college student), and saving money quite well.

Needless to say, I've been thinking a lot about what to do with the truck. I've also been thinking: Once the truck is done and daily drivable, what will I do to my wag?

As far as motors I'm thinking 6.2 diesel in one, 4.0 I6 in the other.

Who's got input? Opinions?

What should I do?!!?
Kyam (that's kye-um)

Do whatever you want! Just take lots of pics for us. The hardest part will be finding the time.

If you get a settlement, sock that money away. You may need it later down the road.

XJ's will take a beating. I saw an offset front crash test of an XJ once. I think the speed was 55. The report indicated the dummy's left leg would have been broken. That's not bad considering the seriousness of the crash. It looked bad.
I don't have any advice for you at the moment, other than to echo FSJ Guy. Sit on the money.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Just be careful with what you post! If an attorney for the other side sees your post you may end up the real NADA :-)
