    will a 2barrel carb off 360 fit 304?

My friend has my old 304 and it needs a new carb. some of the metal is broken on the carb that is on it now. so will the motorcraft carb off a 360 fit? if not, can one off of a 360 be rebuilt with the jets and stuff for a 304.

or basically if a rebuild kit for a carb off a 304 was intalled into a carb off of a 360 would it work??

there aren't any 304s around, but finding a 360 is easy. thanks for you time.

if the 2 bbl manifold is on the 304 then the carb should fit.

dunno if it is jetted too high/ flows too much for a 304.

if the 304 has a 4 bbl manifold then he will need to get a 4 bbl carb.

If you're talking about an MC 2100/2150, then yes, it will need to be re-jetted for a 304. Look on the side of the carb in the casting for either 1.21 or 1.08. 304's use 1.08.

I have yet to see anything but a 1.08 MC2100 on a 304 or 360. Supposedly some of the 360s came with 1.21s but I've never seen them.

I've got a 2100 of a 304 with .045" and one off a 360 with .047" jets. Not a HUGE difference. I would say if you've got a carb you know is good off a 360 bolt that baby on and go to town. If you do need to rejet it's only 5 screws and the jets. About 2 minutes worth of work.

all the 360's i've seen have been either 1.08 (2100 series)
or 1.14 (2150 series). either will be just fine on a 304.
1.08's are rated at 287 cfm,1.14 at 300 cfm. even the 1.21 is rated at only 351 cfm.
any of these would not overwhelm a 304.

Interesting...the 2150 on my '83 360 has 1.21 stamped in the side. Must be the venturi size...whatever works
