    Flexplate question

I have looked at every post about flexplates that I could find but could not find an answer to my question.
I have an 81 Cherokee 360 & 727. It has a bad engine. I have 73 GW 360 & T400 which has a good engine. I want to swap the 73 engine into the 81 Cherokee and keep the 727 transmission.
Will the 73 360 mate to the 727? If I need to swap the flexplate will that affect the balance? Is the pilot bushing the same for both transmissions?

Yes, it will bolt up. You must swap on the newer 727 flexplate.
The 727 Jeeps did not use a crank bushing.
A 73 would have had an adapter/spacer setup w/o a bushing like later th400 equipped Jeeps.

you get a flexplate that is for a 360 and run it,. you don't tear the motor down and have it balanced whenever a flexplate is replaced.
