Just a pressure washer and some soap. I already like it more. The wind on the way home helped remove most of the moulding.
New plugs, fuel filter and adjusted the carburetor. Need to drain fuel and add fresh. Truck runs well, haven't driven it far though. Am considering changing the transmission fluid. AC isn't very cool but it works. Need to start cleaning the inside.

Finished removing vinyl sticker on the side. Replaced temperature sending unit to fix my gauge. Purged the old gasoline out, installed a new set of plugs and fuel filter changed the transmission fluid. Got the parts in to fix most of my power windows ordered the parts missing from one of them. Removed the foam and cloth from the factory headliner. Fixed my inside lights. Installed the new set of tires today. Drove it for about 30 miles. Really enjoyed the wing windows in the nice weather. Next on the list is replacing the transfer case gaskets and changing the differential and transfer case fluids. It's hard for me not to want to replace all the parts that are broken right now and learning to pace myself is not fun.

Traced vacuum back to figure out why 4wd doesn't work. Supply to inside switch was tapped into Ported vacuum. 4wd and hi/lo do work. Now to pull the transfer case and fix the leak. Replaced j track on driver's door, repaired wiring on driver rear door. Now to fix passenger door windows. Troubleshoot fog lights, turns out the inside switch light doesn't work so I just thought it wasn't working, and the bulbs need replaced.
Pulled the cluster and replaced the bulbs. Also I cleaned the connections for the plugs going into the cluster and resoldered some of the connections. While I had it out I bypassed the amp meter since it doesn't work anymore. So now I have interior, cluster, fog and outside lights.
So far two of my boys, my wife and my dad have helped me on different projects on the truck. I enjoy spending time with them as much as I do actually fixing something. It's been a good investment so far85 and 86 GWs

Three windows and the rear all work. All need weather stripping badly. Also got the passenger power seat working. All electrical works on the truck now.
Have a bad exhaust leak so I thought I would pull the y pipe and take a look. Broke a bolt off in the manifold and cut the rest of the very rusted exhaust pipe out of the truck. The muffler was already blown so I guess "ole smokey" is going to get a new exhaust system.
While I was under it I tracked down my transmission leak. The leak is where the shifter linkage comes in. Also found my rattle on the front. The away bar bushing is gone. I know it needs shocks too but am spending far more than I planned to. I need to pace myself85 and 86 GWs

I know that feeling (spending more than expected). The sway bar bushings are super cheap, like maybe $8 at rock auto. I bought Monroe gasmatics and they were like $22 per corner. They ride really nice and have a good warranty.Chuck McTruck 71 J4000

Got my exhaust finished. Used an off-road y pipe for a Chevrolet truck. Cut it and clamped it a few places and it works pretty well. Used a borla 3" muffler.
Upgraded to TFI coil, MSD custom wires and regapped plugs and installed some sway bar bushings. Been driving it a few times a week and can say I really enjoy this truck.
