My 44's have 1/2 X 20 threads right? the OEM rims require Acorn style or 60 degree nuts correct?

Why cant i seem to find any anywhere

yes I know they offer only modest protection - my i need some protection from crack heads with my nice restored rims

I just put new rims/lug nuts on my '79 Chero. The lug nuts I used were 7/16 x 20's.

You could go AMC style and use 6 different types of nuts on each wheel (Hex, Torx, 6-point, star, square, and triangle maybe). You could even go one step farther and use a different size nut on each wheel. It wouldn't be so bad, you'd only need 24 different wrenches/sockets to remove your wheels.

Of course, you'd have to find 4 different sizes of triangle drive lugnuts, but, hey, you'd be unique!
