    New to FSJ's

Hey guys, I recently bought an 80 Cherokee WT from my boss, who is moving to another terminal in another state. Anyhow, he has a Grand Wagoneer as well, and my roommate was doing work on it and his Cherokee too. The GW needed the timing fixed and when it was fixed we took it for a "test run" out in gorgeous Joshua Tree. I was hooked. This Wagoneer looked awesome and easily kept up with my roomies 91 Bronco that is all tricked out, and the GW is stock with some 33's! After that he brought the Cherokee up for work, and never had anything done to it really than a tear down of the motor to install the needed parts. Well he got a job offer in another area and I jokingly offered him $500 for the Cherokee. We BSed a little and I found out more and more and he said for 1100 it was mine. So I paid for the Cherokee and also got 4.88 ring and pinion to match the rear and a Yukon Grizzly locker included. The Jeep already has a 3" lift and the suspension was properly relocated, ford 9" rear, Dana 44 front, fenders have been trimmed as he was planning to put 35's on it. The original engine was swapped out for a 6.7 401 AMC with a 2bbl carb. The front seats were also swapped out (I'll add pics later) with some really awesome seats out of I dont know what. Windows work for the exception of the tail gate window, and everything electrical seems to work fine. It ran just before my roommate started doing work on it and needs a harmonic balancer and timing chain cover, but I am also going to replace the timing chain and sprockets, water pump and the oil pump. motor has about 40k miles since rebuild. My boss is one of the very few good bosses I ever had, and I know he wouldn't have sold me this if it wasn't worth it. What do you guys think?

    Sweet!

    Welcome to the board.
We were just camping last weekend out in Landers, CA. Had a chance last Friday night to go through one of Yucca Valleys infamous DUI check points (fun times).

    Welcome again from SmeLLA
(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

Agreed on the nudity, but I'm not even sure how to begin looking for flares that will fit this. Do I just have a body shop fabricate new ones? Or are there nice aftermarket ones that will fit?

I'm not far from Landers at all, an hour or so, considering a quarter of the journey is on dirt roads. I hail from Desert Hot Springs, just down the hill.
I feel like I stole it more and more every day, also just found out he's throwing in a new set of drums for the rear brakes. My g/f and I love camping, and are just kinda starting to get out on our own and explore things for ourselves. I'm hoping to have this Jeep up and running in a month.
