I dont know about your area, but around here a dana 60 front usually goes for $1000 or more. I have been keeping an eye out, but nothing below that so far.

If you have a pull your parts type junkyard it might be worth it to go. There is one about 60 miles from me where any (insert part) is X$$. So an AMC 304 engine is the same price as a 401(if you can find one), and a front axle for a Toyota, or a high pinion Ford kingpin 60 are the same price.

    Good luck,

I would go get it for that price and only 100 miles.

It took me about 6-7 months to find a complete (not a pile-o-parts) front SRW GM D60 at under $1K. It was about 100 miles away and I'm another $2-300 into it for parts (bearings, seals, rotors, joints) and still have steering to deal with.

I feel that I got a good deal on mine. '80 Chevy 1 ton SRW matching D60/14bolt with brand new 5.38's and Detroit lockers in both axles. Front is a king pin style and came with new high steer kit. Bought them both for $2200.

$650+ for DRW and $700-1000+ for a SRW around here. The last one I got was a DRW for $600 and needed some parts.

If you have a gas sipping pick-up or could borrow one, this sounds like a good deal.

After the purchase price you'll have plenty more to spend to install it in your FSJ....

$h!t... for $500 snatch it... Over here on the average a stock D60 front is normally $1000 in good shape. With better gearing, locker, aftermarket shafts.... man, you just never know what price they'll ask. I've seen built front 60's go for $2200...
I paid $1000 for my HP Ford D60... Put new rotors, calipers, kingpins, seals, bearings and narrowed the long side 5 1/2"... Most of this wasn't needed I just wanted the satisfaction of knowing that this axle is in like new condition.
