God looks out for fools and drunks

My wife has a saying that God looks out for fools and drunks. At times, I've been both. Well, I wasn't drunk but He was still looking out for me today.

While heading home from a camping trip, pulling our trailer the thermostat stopped working and overheated the rig. Amazingly, it happened right next to a parts store and they had all we needed.

It gets better. Earlier in the trip, I pulled over to check something on the trailer. My wife spotted some black tubing on the ground. Turned out to be fuel line. She threw it in the rig because she hates litter and it was in brand new condition.

Flash forward, the thermostat is replaced, we're back on the road and the rig starts starving for gas. I loop back, get some filters and go to changing filters. Turns out the fuel lines were old and cracked.

You guessed it. The fuel line my wife picked up off the ground miles back was exactly the right diameter and, after replacing all the line under the hood, I was left with about 3" left over.

I'll be singing a little louder in church tomorrow.

You owe your wife big time. And I doubt she's ever going to let you forget it! LOL!

          Or!!

God loves an old Waggie, if he knows when a sparrow falls in the forest...surely he knows when a Waggie stalls by the side of the road.

Not even close to your story, after checking for leaks under the truck when doing an intake change, I noticed gasoline leaking steadly from my old, cracked, fuel hose under the truck next to the electric fuel pump.

I've had a few such experiences...call 'em tests of character, which it seems you passed with flying colors.

I once had a motorcycle gear shift vibrate off somewhere on the highway. When I hit the offramp I almost put my foot on the pavement at 60mph...so I'm stuck in 5th gear at a stoplight. By the time I got it out of traffic, the clutch was toasted. I pulled into a parking lot...right across the street from the only motorcycle salvage yard I've ever seen.

The Lord taketh and the Lord giveth back, I guess.
