    Fan shroud!

Looking for a fan shroud and would prefer not to pay the $200 for a new aluminum (unless I absolutely have to)!

I have been where you are at,....

finally got the aluminum one,.....well worth it

will never dry rot and crack like the plastic OEM

and the OEM ones I always found were approx 300+
and already brittle from years of heat, just waiting to crack.....

    or NOS for 500 +

so the aluminum was best choice for me.

    good luck

Thanks! I was about to pull the trigger on the new aluminum but 2 people reached out with some much cheaper OEM options from their parts rigs. Waiting to hear back...but a cheap oem will be my go-to most likely

If they fall through, aluminum it is!

        good news !

and even if the OEM does crack

I have seen some great repairs using jb weld for plastic.

I have also seen someone fashion a top arch from thin aluminum
then rivet it on,.......when the plastic breaks in that area.

and it seems someone posted on here once
a pattern to make an complete aluminum shroud at home.

Could you share the knowledge with these replacement options? Mine came out of my '84 GW in four pieces and I'm not too keen on dropping $200+ on this if there are other OEM options. Thanks in advance!

            the OEM options are :

OEM USED, can be costly even if in poor shape,....

OEM,.....N.O.S. = new old stock,.....can easily be five hundred...

***the aluminum shroud from BJ's OFFROAD is a no brainer,... if the time is right for you, that is,.....

but I understand, and don't doubt there may be an OEM one out there in good shape at a good price

            ...but I never found one.

I will admit I was lucky e-nuff that an IFSJA member sold me his BJ's offroad aluminum shroud since he was done with it....

if I see an OEM one I will let you both know
