    Dash Question

    Hey guys, Can a person pull out a the entire dash(steel part) does it even unbolt on 79 Chero.? some hacked up the radio area and the glove box does not shut and the ash tray flops around, let me know thanks

    It all comes out, but you'll probally have to pull the windshield to access the bolts up by the defrost ducts.

      You can pull the dash out there are bolts that are under the windshield gasket and more that go out from the sides into the door frame area. If you are going to do it removing the windshield will make it easier but I have been told some people have done it with windshield in place.

          BACK from the dead !

          ok is the VIN attached to the vinyl or the metal part of the dash ? anyone have their dashboard recovered ?? post up pics of the recovering

            I pulled mine the other week. Was so dry rotten it just tore out in handfulls
            Just need to pull off the brackets that the pad was attached too

              VIN tag is on metal. Never had one recovered. Mine got tore up putting in the T18 and holding it with an engine hoist through the door. Got lucky and found another one.

                GH k I figured as much I just did not have the Jeep in front me and I could not remember!

                Surf Wagoneer I have a feeling mine will do the same, my Cherokee was an Arizona vehicle so..
