I bought a J20 a few years ago (maybe more) after seeing it by the roadside one night along the north coast of Java. 258ci, T18 etc.
I slammed on the brakes of my XJ Cherokee and backed up. There are few FSJ in Indonesia and this thing was rough but.......... bigger than I expected.
My wife tracked it down and got it for Christmas. I rebuilt the axles and broken rings and settled bearings, then replaced the brake master and got the fuel system back to spec.
The fuel tank was baddllly cracked. I spent a weekend with a soldering iron and an old oil bottle piecing it back together, now it is solid.
We had some good times off road, it was awesome.
And then a brake hose burst and it took a year to get back to it. In the end I hired a mechanic just to work through the brakes and replace all the serviceparts and hoses. After a few days it was up and running but looking a bit sorry for its long standing and neglect.
As oosn as I master the pictures, you will see all.
