What other vehicles had our armrests?

During a recent rhino hunt at a somewhat local bone yard I noticed a door from an automobile that had the exact same arm rest on it that was on the early 70's Wagoneer/Cherokees. It was geting dark so I did not have time to stop to figure out what vehicle the door was from. Does anyone know what make & year car had these armrests? I am talking about the arm rests that had the thin metal band down the middle that covered the mounting screw holes.

Next question, the mounting screws on these armrests are 7 3/8" center-to-center apart. Other than a newer style Wagoneer armrest, are there any other armrests with this hole width?

Thanks for any help. My new interior is moving forward, slowly, but still moving forward.

Check AMC Concords (what the 70's Hornet became) from the 80s. Plus oddball cars like the original Eagle (Concorde 4X4). AMC used lots of parts across platforms. The tailgate handle-latch on my 84 J10 is a Hornet/Gremlin door handle!

Yep, I've seen them on AMC cars-Concords, Pacers, & Eagles. 3-spoke steering wheels are the same too, except you'll get an "AMC" instead of "Jeep" on the button. Check out the gauge cluster on a Gremlin if you get a chance. They're the same round ones as the FSJ but they have a silver background. Too bad it's not the same gauge configuration.

Germlins have the same arm rest as the 73-? (mid or late 70's) FSJ's do.

Why are we looking at carcases of other AMC vehicles than an FSJ to provide interior parts for an FSJ?

It must be that there are no FSJs in the boneyards with parts to offer. Which would indicate that the FSJ is the only vehicle left by AMC that people are bothering to restore in hordes.

Or it could be that they are being restored and reused--despite how they rust out. Or....

It raises the question: Where do old FSJs go to die?

AMC cars are a good place to snag extra window cranks and inside door handles too. Screw thread pitch varies though.

All the good AMC cars are in garages and restored -- or on the way to restoral. I have a mint '65 Rambler 2-door hardtop in storage myself. Lots of guys with AMXs and other stuff out there too.

Some day they will catch on to the world of FSJs.
