    Grille Frame welt?

Is this how to mount a Grille Frame welt?
(is this stock for 1985 Wagoneers?)

I have some problems to keep it tight at the upper part (upper red arrow), where the Grille Frame is round... do you glue it a little bit at that point?

    and one more question:
the Grille Frame of my 1985 Wagoneer is plastic.
When were they made in aluminium? And were the Grille Inserts made of alumminium, too, that time???

    Thanks Gunnar

I tried to attach a picture of my Waggy with the new black, rubber made welt, mounted on the side of the chrome grille.
But I am not sure if this belongs there...

That the right type welt and I have seen some that fit tight between the grille and body and I have seen them glue on. Most of them fit tight and do not need glue.

I would look at the mounting holes/tabs of the grill surround, both on top of the radiator support and along the bottom. You may need to bend the tabs, or loosen the screws to get the surround to fit tighter.

This does not belong here. Has NOTHING to do with the topic.

I have glued mine with contact cement, as I noticed the factory did the same thing.
(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

                    Hi Christ,

                    I used the TGWs....

and yes as recommended by the guys... loosing/moving/fixing...and again and again... helped to make the fit much better now...not perfect... but OK for me for the moment
