Tailgate seals for 89 GW

Does the tailgate for an 89 GW have any type of seal along the top of the tailgate on the inside of the glass. Not referring to the plastic strip along the inside that helps protect the glass when down. Looks like it should have some type of felt or rubber strip along there to help keep trash from slipping down inside the tailgate. Mine does not have anything there (Guess who dropped a screw through that slot). Door window have such a strip and I would expect the tailgate to have something also. If there is such a strip, how is it attached? Who sells them?

Yup, should have. That one is rotted the worst on my Wag. I know BJ's has them. I have the tailgate set in my FSJ favorites list (on the internet explorer) Can't help ya with your other question... Im not sure how to get out or in. Im sure you could look it up, and probably find even videos of the process on youtube...most likely featuring other vehicles.

There's a felt wipe on each side of the glass -- yours is obviously missing the inner piece.

They attach just like all of the window wipes attach -- with the little metal tabs that push down into the slots in the sheetmetal channel.

You need to bookmark BJ's Offroad and Team Grand Wagoneer. If there is a new/reproduction part available, these are the two places it will be.
