Cruise Control problem 1975 Cherokee Chief "S"

    Hi,

i'am working on my 360AMC (best american sale) FSJ, repaired about 55 problems so far (and running) and love to go one with it.

    My problem:
The cruise control isn't working anymore, and in none of the manuals i own, the Cruise Control system is discribed. I now that (because of my technical background):
    - the speedometer cable,
    - some vacuum hoses and
    - electrical wires and switches are involved
    but thats about it.

Do you now anything about it, or perhaps some internet adress or manual that discribes the working of the Cruise Control system?

    Thanks!!!!

up under the dashboard is a control module of some sort. i only know of this because the factory installed duct tape securing it to the ac ducts failed. it now resides on the xmission hump. good luck

Tune in for next weeks episode of "When Duct Tape Fails!".
I belive there is a article in the tech section of the FSJ site on troubleshooting the electrical portion of the system.. I printed it out so I could check mine out but havent gotten around to it yet.. Hope this helps.

Mine wouldn't work because of a bad relay. I used a generic Bosch relay to "test" (I'm still testing ) the old relay. I had to make short jumper wires to connect the Bosch to the factory connector. That fixed my CC. Also check the conditon of the vacuum bellows under the hood. Oh ya, the relay is on the fire wall behind the brake pedal.
