1977 Cherokee 360

I need to replace the distributor gear as well as the cam gear. Who make the best or where can I get a set? I have read so many theories but this Cherokee is very clean and being the second owner I want to keep original but I have a 1978 Cherokee Chief that is running but a little rough that I will turn into a trail rider.

Go ahead and do the timing set and water pump while you are in there.

I heard alot of bad about Bulltear, things like not being matched gears or being offset. Who is a good supplier for parts?

If you want peace of mind that the gears are not going to shred themselves, get them from Bulltear

If your cam gear is in good condition (You can check by looking through the opening with a flashlight, look for any uneven wear marks/grooves on the teeth. You should see a smooth and even wear pattern on the gear). If the cam gear is the original and the wear pattern looks good chances are you don't have to change it... this said, just make sure you get the proper "stock" distributor gear...
I normally go to the junkyards and remove the distributor gears from the wags (Providing they're in good shape which most of them are). You could always bring your distributor to a parts store and get a new Cardone Distributor p/n 30-4891 for roughly $49.00 (Advance Auto)... NAPA where I am is a little more spendy for the same distributor... Napas p/n is NRD484891 $74.00... (Can't remember if that's with the core or without ).
Bulltear is a good site/company to get stuff... I think BJ's also sells the distributor gears??? and the last I knew they're willing to match or better the competitors prices... (Don't quote me for sure as I have never delt with BJ's personally... But seeing some of their products and prices... I might have to try them out).

Just food for thought.
