Howdy folks. New guy with a 69 J3000 camper special. Nothing fancy about it. Just a deer lease find. Drug it home for cheap. The bed is long gone from rust. And it looks like you can get tetanus from just looking at it. Which makes it beautiful in my eyes. Not my first Jeep by far. I've been a unibody guy since I started. This is my third Jeep with a frame. But somewhere around my 9th Jeep. My current stable includes 2 98 5.9 limiteds, one on 35's, one stock. A 2016 75th anniversary Grand Cherokee. And this 69. Former keeps are a 54 wagon, 70 CJ5, 86 Grand Waggy, 97 Grand Cherokee, and 92 Comanche. Current build plans for the 69 are won tons, 37's, and 5.2 Chrysler power.
As much flack as I am going to catch for not restoring this truck, it will be worth it. The drive train (Buick 350, T18, Dana 20) were all water filled and questionable at best. The bed and precious tailgate were chopped up for a trailer project by the PO. And the floors are pretty far gone.
But I have it in the shop currently to replace the floors, and setup the new suspension. So we shall see how this goes.
