I'm gonna hijack on this thread...I asked a question on the ford f150 forum pertaining to this upgrade...I did it on my wag, I was wondering if I can use the same coil on a '79 f150 with a Jasper 6.6l 400...I mean-we use all the parts from a '79ish truckwith a 93ish coil and wires... theoreticly it sounds like it should work...right?? the thing I am hesitant about is the gap...I think the ford is already at .44...would I need to increase that??

I recently did the TFI upgrade also. I had previously installed those Bosch plugs with two electrodes sitting across from each other. They say you don't ever need to gap them. Do I need to make any changes here?

Those plugs SHOULD have been gapped for your stock application from the factory. They would probably need to be opened up if you wanted a none stock gap.

At some point you may run into an issue with piston clearance.

Can't remember what they are called. They are from Bosch. The ground electrodes are on either side of the hot.

they are called Bosch Platinum Plus 2...they are pre-gapped from Bosch and would be difficult to accurately re-gap they are designed for stock gap replacement but deliver a bigger spark to more efficiently burn la la la I don't mean to sound like a commercial...If you just did the tfi upgrade, pick up some single electrode plugs and gap 'em to .44,/.45 to achieve the result of the upgrade you are looking for... I ran champion standard plugs when I did mine, but while I am canging out the carb and cam and all that jazz,I will drop in a set of Bosch platinum plus plugs (single electrode) I have always had good luck with them
