Great Experience at Jake's Fullsize Jeep Junkyard

I was going on a little vacation last week to NC and decided to stop by Jake's and Jackie's in Burnsville. I read good things about them in the forums and they were right. Over 80 FSJs and pick-ups lined up in the field, barn of pulled common parts and very reasonable prices. They are great to deal with and nice people. Call ahead 828-675-0579 to guarantee they will be there and so they can lead you in, you probably won't find it on your own the first time.

It is well worth the trip to see them.

Extremely hospitable folks, we had a great time dodging live ammo.

My vent window frames were rusted pretty bad on my GW so I found a perfectly clean rust free set from an 88. My center front arm rest/seat was missing so I got a same color replacement with base. My fiberglass heater core box was smashed from PO, found a clean metal replacement with heater core. My GW did not come with a jack, they had an original bumper jack and tire iron. I didn't need anything heavy duty but they have just about everything. It was nice to be able learn what it takes to pull/replace a part from a donor car before you tear into yours!

I think it is Yancy County. I think we passed through three counties to get there from I 40. We were there two weekends ago and picked up a quarter panel. Nice folks indeed and a great drive up into the mountains.

I not only didn't find my way in I had to have Jackie lead me back out because it was dark. Good thing too or else I would probably still be dragging my car hauler around them mountains. I think I cleaned out all the ditches and most of the vegetation on them tight turns.
Next time I'm heading in from the north side now that I know where they are.

... and yes they are Good People.

I figured they would be snowed in still. Guess it is warmer than I thought there.
