    BAD seller BJS offroad

I have had the worst luck with this company. I tried to order gears, a week later they called and said they don't have them. Now I'm trying to get some poly engine mounts and they call me a week after I order and tell me um, like maybe we will have them Friday, the following monday I call them (multiple times, they don't like answering the phone) finally get ahold of someone, they tell me my parts will ship monday. It's now wensday and I can't get ahold of them (again) and haven't got any indication that the parts have shipped.

Anyone else have experiences like this? I really want to support them because of the love they give the FSJ community, but dang.

Wow. Can't say I have. I've only just started dealing with them but they've been good so far. In fact I ordered a part 2 days ago and received notification today that it has shipped. Now, I've never tried to call. But they've responded well to internet contact. Good luck.

Not sure what is going on with your situation, but I have ordered parts from them several times. Each time I ordered from them, I quickly got a reply e-mail with the status of my order. Every time there was a change in the status of my order, I was notified via e-mail. I hope that everything works out for you. They are a great company to do business with. I am sure they will take care of you.

I've ordered many times from BJ's over the last few years with no problems at all. However, I am having a similar issue with my current order which I place 2 1/2 weeks ago. Was told it would ship last Monday, called on Friday, said it would ship this week. An issue with the supplier.

With that said, I totally understand these types of issues can happen with suppliers and I really appreciate the effort these guys make in supplying parts that we cant get at the major auto parts stores. The prices aren't that bad on most stuff either. Yes maybe they could communicate a bit better but I am very happy with them as a vendor overall. Got some money coming in next week that the wife said I could have so more money will be coming their way.

I've had about a 50/50 experience. I wish I could jump on the 100% satisfied bandwagon but I've been disappointed at times as well. Using the on-line chat works pretty good to move things along. (Now that you remind me, I've been waiting since 2/21 for part of my order. Sorry guys.)

We are a small company, one or two people answering the phone and filling orders so usually there is just one guy answering the phone all of the time. I wish we had the $$$ to hire 2 more guys but we can't do that and stay afloat -- without raising prices a TON.

If we are on the other line, we do not put them on hold to answer another line. Have you been leaving messages? All messages get returned by the end of the day.

We also have live chat, email and a customer service forum to help with customer service.

I can tell you that we received only some of the motor mounts we were promised from our vendor so the older orders got shipped first. I don't know who you are or your order number so I can't tell you anything.

It seems like a lot of vendors have scaled back production so we have a lot longer wait times than we used to, this is unfortunately something we cannot control.

Let me know and I can help you out.

I ordered some stuff the other day, and waited 4 days and it still wasn't shipped. I called, and got someone. They said part of the order was backordered. I canceled the back ordered parts, and wanted the rest shipped. They were not, and I called back the following week. It all got straightened out, and I appreciate the service of droppin them in for 3 day delivery. I wouldn't have been angry, but no one called to tell me the parts were on back order. I think the main concern is the lack of communication. Perhaps you could set up a canned email to let people know that something is on back order so you don't have to call? Just a suggestion. I like doing business with you guys, I just hate not knowing what is going on with my order.

YES! I admit it! I'm an impatient gearheaded jerk!

Thanks for responding to this thread. If you're Brent, you're the one I talked to the second call. Thanks again.

I've had some mixed success with BJs but they're still far and away the best source I've found for new, proprietary parts.

Most recently I got some turn signal assemblies, a license plate bulb, and an exhaust hanger that no one else said they could get.

Now, I admit I was frustrated by the lack of communication. I made the order on the 4th of March and didn't get it until the end of the month, and both times I called it was 'next week?' I know that song and dance, it's just standard customer service to give the customer your best guess.

But whaddya know, once it was in the mail I got it two days later. I could have gotten the order way sooner if not for that pesky exhaust hanger, but it wasn't urgent. If it was, I'm sure they would have done all they could; I've read several instances from members here where BJs bent over backwards to help them make a deadline.

Like they say, they're a small operation. I'd never guess it from the online store, but that's a mark of their professionalism.

Here is my take. We have a weird hobby/passion. We dig old vehicles that are really cool and while iconic (people recognize them right away) they weren't uber popular in their day and were always a niche vehicle... so parts and expertise are not to be found everywhere.

I hope and pray that our little cult is large enough and profitable enough that some guys who are willing to stock and sell us parts can stay in business. God Bless BJ's, Kanters, and some others (sorry if I didn't mention an important company)...

I've ordered from BJ's and had some items on backorder. Big deal. Was I anxious to get the parts and work on my truck? Sure, but I am darn glad that they even exist to help me get these parts.

I know it is a small company (a big company would just not stock our parts) and I have my expectations set that I'll hear from Ryan or one of the guys and I trust that they are bustin' their rears to provide what they can for us.

BJ's is a terrific company in my experience, not that everything goes perfectly, but that they are working to get us what we need at reasonable prices and are helpful and part of our community...

They are one of my very favorite vendors and I count myself lucky (as does my truck) that they exist and hope that they stay encouraged to continue serving us.

I have ALWAYS had good service from BJ's. Try an email or the chat feature. They have always treated me well, even though I am not a big spender with them.

i have ordered in the past and had good service.

                            BUT

they really impressed a few weeks ago. i needed a strainer and autozone could only sell the whole sending unit. I got online, clicked the chat and within 3 minutes someone was there to help me out. told them what i needed, when i needed it by and needed to know how much it was going to be to ship quickly.
ordered thurday afternoon, recieved saturday in mail, installed on sunday.

                            very happy with them!
