Qudratrack question

Hi all,
So I am doing new seals on my transfer case. Well I noticed alot of play in the rear output shaft. Is this normal?

What do you mean by play? A few degrees of twisting motion? Up and down/side to side? Or in and out?

A little twisting is ok but probably means your chain is slacked/worn. Up/down is the ball bearing inside and is bad. In and out, not sure.

I have several guesses of which none probably apply.

It is very likely the chain is not broken yet though...
