I mounted the brackets with the motors in the front. I used my metal chop saw to shorten the steps to the length shown. The 4 trigger wires on the harness had been cut (I think there was a multi plug on the wires for a plug and play with the ford install) ...the shop owner could not remember.
I called Amp Research and got a tech guy that told me connect the 4 wires together and figure out a way to "come off ground" to trigger the controller to drop the steps. I used a 5 pin relay and wired it into the dome light circuit to do just that (see my crude wiring diagram) Other pics show the relay and the rubber multi connector for the dome light circuit the I tapped into

That rubber dome light connector is under the dash ...drivers side. Mounted the controller up by the battery and ran all the wires. Any questions?...fire away.

Merry Christmas to you and to everyone else there in old Jeep land

Too cool, still wish there'd be another way to mount them then drilling the rocker panels giving rust another foothold. I guess it's a pick your poison thing, unmolested rockers or power steps.. Good info, thanks.

Nice, pretty slick install there. So a rectangular hole needs to be cut into the inner rocker panel to insert the 'j clips'. Seems simple enough.

Anyone still have pics of this? They aren't showing up for me. We want to do the same thing on my 90 SJ but we're struggling to find a good starting point for a model # for the AMP steps.

Probably not. Most of the pictures I have posted in the last 3 months are starting to disappear. I will try to fix it this week.
