SoCal gathering?
Alright guys...it has been tried before and have met some folks via small gatherings.
We should all make some kinda meet up happen?
It's difficult due to life/wife/kids etc. but lets hear some ideas.
Keep in mind the travel factor/time. big area and traffic sux!

I'd totally be in!!! I say we pick a spot in Orange County since it's pretty much centrally located. Santa Barbara, San Diego, Temecula, Bakersfield, and IE areas could all make it there and back in a day, maybe even some folks at Lemoore NAS (Heavy_Metal_Thunder_81?). I would be willing to go to any of those areas, too.
I suggest late May/early June with early June being preferred since most of our midgets will be out of school by then but it won't be scorching hot yet. Saturday late morning, early afternoon sounds good to me.
Some ideas for places to meet, park, chat, drink a few beers, exchange parts? Umm.... Lets see.... USS Iowa in San Pedro (not really OC), Knotts Berry Farm, Huntington Beach Pier, Irvine Regional Park, Lyon Air Museum (Santa Ana)?
Maybe we all meet up Saturday night June 1st in the Pomona Swap meet grounds, camp inside the gate (they'll let you do that if you come in to the show/shine area), shop the next day, and go our separate ways after that?
Something a little more "eventful"? How about RallyCross at Glen Helen raceway? Again, not really "central" but that looks like a ton of fun. There's a Rallycross event at Glen Helen Raceway the weekend of June 2nd.
The only trails I know are northern LA county, like near Grapevine or off the 14.

I would make a strong effort to make it! The Gorman Rally sounds cool to me, I’ve always wanted to go. I’d have a better chance of making it if it’s LA county or north.

The Pomona idea sounds fun. I've wanted to try to get up there and go through it, but keep missing it. The Lyon air Museum would be neat too, FSJs and old planes would be pretty cool!

Maybe we do it in the fall just to get more time to invite folks?

I nominate Saturday Aug 10, Huntington Beach Pier. Recommend we meet there 10 am (before traffic and heat pick up too much) for coffee. We hang out, parts swap, then cruise Main street, head over to Dynatrack (I can call them and see if they would be willing to host us for a little while) or another offroad shop in the HB area (Topline, OC Offroad, other?), then over to some place for late lunch/early dinner and drive home.
There is also a Cars and Coffee in Aliso Viejo 9am-11am on Saturdays and it might be kind of cool to crash that place, it would be pretty fun to show up in a stinky, loud, rattle trap FSJ to one of those snobby places... Hmmm....

Well, fortunately, I'm moving out of this heck hole in a few days so unfortunately I won't be able to meet any of you fine Jeepers. The ones I have met, it was a pleasure!
