A few questions, starting to gather parts for TBI Swap!!

Going Wednesday to look at a harness and computer out of a 1988 Chevy Suburban. The Harness is allegedly complete with computer minus sensors and taillight wiring. All parts have already been pulled. The Price is $75.00. Is this a fair price for what I will be getting? Is there anything I need to look out for?

Fair price, look closely for damaged connectors/wiring.
Sometimes the retaining clips on the connectors are brittle/cracked/broken.
Not a big deal, because if you're DIY the wiring will need some work anyway.
But if there are any issues offer less.
If they pulled it right should be no cut wires.
You only need the engine harness, anything else is just excess baggage.

For reference I paid $110 @ local yard for a complete system less computer(already had a couple).
Wiring/sensors/throttle body/distributor/fuel lines/etc., but I had to spend the time to pull it.

Got the harness and computer this afternoon. Ended up with the full body harness. Nothing was cut. But he did unplug the harness from the sensors and left them on the motor so I guess I am going have to buy some stuff new.

Sensors are cheap and probably better off buying a new CTS anyway.

Yea I think that new sensors are the way to go, I just started sorting through the Harness. This going to be one heck of a learning experience.

It's not too bad, really. Just take it slow. Get a wiring schematic for your ECM and have at it! Once you get it thinned out, it'll start making more sense and will be less daunting.

I have the harness thinned out now, I am waiting on a few connector pig tail so that I can replace broken or missing ones and a dual 87 relay for the power side and it will be done. Also waiting on more label tape so I can finish labeling everything. Now I need to find a throttle body, adapter plate, sensors, fuel pump and a few other odds and ends.

Just scored a 350 throttle body that is in really good shape.

Nice! Buy a new pump. Don't cheap out on that part!

Will do on buying the new fuel pump. I am taking that approach with everything that needs it. It has to be reliable, as this will be my daily driver for as soon as winter gets here.

if you're buying new sensors spend the extra $ on oem acdelco.
I've had issues w/some of the cheap mcparts store stuff.

rockauto has good prices on them

If you are going to rework the harness yourself, The best thing you can get is a continuity tester or a multimeter with a continuity tester built in. They are worth their weight in gold.
