I'm the 2nd owner of this 1974 Jeep Cherokee SJ Custom. Purchased in Mammoth Lakes, CA in 2012.

At purchase at 90,000 original miles. Amazingly no rust!

    Added:
Skyjacker 4” Lift, Rancho RS5000 Series, 31x10.5 NEXEN, Roadian MT
PerTronix Igniter Solid-State Ignition System: Hooker Headers
Edelbrock Aluminum Performer RPM 360 manifold non-EGR
Holley 4180 Carburetor 4 bbl 600 CFM Carburetor

    Removed all smog equipment.

    What she looks like now:

    Slowly replacing all Weather Stripping.

    Future Plans:
    Surco Safari roof rack
    Off road lights
    Crash Bar
Remove InOp A/C?? Not sure about that.

Wow, that looks a lot like PlasticBoob's '74 Cherokee! I believe he is in California, too.
Nice score and welcome to the board

            All,

Thank you for the warm welcome to the board. I've been reading all your posts well before buying my 74. I've always wanted a FSJ!

In fact, I saw Plastic Bobs Jeep before my purchase and I lucked out finding one very similar.

I look forward to participating and sharing my build with the members of the board and hope to learn from your builds and projects!

                Double Trouble!

Hey Sean! This is too cool - another Trans Am red '74 just "up the road" from me.

I see you are near Castaic - one of these days we should definitely get our rigs together. Maybe meet somewhere halfway?

This is going to sound silly, but I always thought it would be cool to get every single non-metallic color of '70s Cherokee parked next to each other for a pic...

Anyway, that diamond baked enamel looks to be in great shape. I think you will be pleasantly surprised once you wax away 20 years of oxidation.

Looking forward to reading your posts and seeing more pics.

                  Rob,

Maybe we could get some of our SoCal Cherokees together at Hungry Valley SRVA and do some trails and some good eats at the park. I work for State Parks so maybe I could put together a little special gathering for us.

I'm more than willing to meet half way though. Just let me know when is a good time!

I'd like to see what you've done with your 74 Trans Am red SJ.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

                        Looks Great

Looking really good! Could be plasticboob's twin...I like the look of those slotted wheels on the n/t body.

Very nice find. Big fan of the clean lines of the narrow tracks.
