'81 Cherokee W/T-$1350-Oregon

The time has come to let my old girl go to a home that will use her.

1981 Cherokee 2 door W/T. Has an 86? 360, T18 (6.32 1st), Center Force II clutch, NP208, 3.31 gears, lock rite in the rear. Mileage is a total unknown on either the engine or chassis. Last time driven was about 5 years ago, and was about 300 yards from house to where it is stored now. Showed no oil pressure but I think a mouse got the line to the A/M gauge. Ran good when parked. Needs pan gasket. Replaced rear main and the pan didn't seal up. No rear seat and fronts got torn up by the little rodents. Headliner is really sagging, w/shield has a crack. Manual locks and windows. Pro Comp M/T's with around 65% left on them, later model Waggy turbines. Body is in OK condition considering. Fabbed winch bumper using center section from a big Bronco grill guardmount, cut down OEM grille guard and welded to bumper. Daylighters on bumper, driving/fog combos in bumper. Suspension is stock w/ add-a-leaf in the back. Same rig as in my avatar.

Has an 8274 Warn on it, and is included at that price. Will let it go for $1000 without the winch, and will pay for lost title application. Paid more than either price for the tranny from Tri-County Gear when I bought that little goodie.

Figure on trailering it to get it home.

Rig is excess to needs now that I have the XJ and a Blazer and am all alone. Drrop me a PM, might take a few days to get back as I don't get over here much anymore.

Body is decent, floors looked good when parked. Is/was an inland truck, never lived on a coast. Right fender is wrinkled, but do have another, rear flares have some tweaks. After all it was my street and trail rig for around 8 years.

Where in the Willamette Valley is it located? That's only 150 miles of valley starting at Portland in the north and going south way past Eugene. And most of it the most beautiful part of the state.

Just trying to figure out if I will need to take 84/5 or 80 through Winnemucca and Klamath Falls.

Located in Lebanon, 15 miles east of I-5, halfway between Salem and Eugene. Probably a coin flip either way.........

Ryan- email and pics sent. If you need any others, let me know. Pop a battery back in (I have it), a shot or two of fuel in the carb and she should self load.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

Wish I had the coin and space for another project.

Please let me know if you end up with extra stuff that might work on my J20. I'm not too far from you.

High quality junk here: intro thread and slow build thread

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

really

I can't believe this one is still around. It would clean up really well compared to what I've seen at this price. I've seen this one around fo ra while & know it has quality work done to it. it's a survivor yes but you could save more than the buy in on work already done to it. The rig has got more in the lock rite differentials & the winch than the asking price.

I'd buy that if it wasn't clear on the other side of the country. The front bumper an winch are worth the asking price alone.

Thanks, my own design, center is a big Bronco grill mount with fabbed brackets to go over/around the front shackle mounts, and the outer ends are .120 plate with a nice lip on the underside and the mounts for the lights in the bumper (kind of hidden by the berry briars).

That is what my Waggy looked like when I found it in WA...covered in moss in a bunch of blackberries. If I had the time, I'd grab that in a heartbeat. I gotta get the shop built first though.

elkhntr came and looked her over, apparently found drivers floor has a hole in it.

This is not a restoration project per se, it was a daily driver and trail rig for several years and has been parked and neglected for the last 8 years or so, but I am not into giving it away..........I know what is in her and what the worth of it is, even if someone parts it out. Don't even try to low ball me on the price. I'll let her rust into oblivion before I give her away.
