Maybe I should wait till I get the SOA done on the Chero. I was only planning on a 2" lift for my Honcho.
Are there bypasses for the hard stuff?
Maybe I'll trade my towel for a brown bag with eye holes cut out.

For the most part yes, or optional trails to run.

Come on over Tom, I'm not a hard core wheeler like these guys, I just like driving around in the desert and meeting good people.

Well I sort of forgot about a map for this year a couple other things I'm sure.

The area circled in green is where most folks stayed last year, it worked well.
The area circled in blue are the cabins, Michael stayed in one so I'll let him comment on that.
The area circled in black is just another tent area, not sure if it gets the discount but it is shaded and closer to the bathrooms (us old people like that).

If folks would like me to list where they are staying I'll be happy to keep the map updated.

Sorry guys gals I have had no time to commit to this, but we need to start getting a head count.

4 legs will be fine. I am sure it is okay with the KOA, I was thinking of bring my 4 legged friend but I do not want to pick up 90lbs and put him in the jeep all the time.

As far as the cabins, really they are great. I have used them in Ouray and in Cruces, it really cuts down on camping gear for just a few more $ a night. You get one queen/full size bed and bunk beds, sleep 4. I will do it again.

Just a reminder lets start getting our reservations in at the KOA, I have not even made mine yet. Work has been crazy so I do not have time to even think about it. Cannot wait to see you guys in a couple of months!

I just sent Leah an email Friday (the 7th).
I have not heard back, but it may not even be the correct email addy this time.
For all I know she may not even be the manager there now?
I'll call Monday if I do not hear back by then.

We're going for M-F (12th -16th) even though we may leave Thursday afternoon depending on our schedules.

LOL

Michael, I was referring to four feet. Mine and Bill's. If we are able to come, we would have to fly, so no worries about getting a head count for us at the KOA.

Just wanted to make sure we'd be welcome to attend. Either way, we're in for a donation.

Heck Ya you are welcome

For me, it was a lot like Ouray.
It's a diverse group with FSJ's in common.
Everyone was happy and helping, be it wheelin' or dinner.

The only thing about the 'Cruces KOA I would change is the non-coed bathrooms.

May want to start a roll-call / headcount thread soon since we are less than 3 month's away, maybe start it by Sept. 1. I am in for Thursday and Friday, that is all the vacation I can take, but I am also open to wheel on Saturday for those who want to linger or can't make it during the week.

Also, last year we did one easy/moderate trail, small lift and 31 to 33" tires required, and a combination of moderate and hard trails with some very hard obstacles in the way that are bypass-able. But there is all kinds of trails in the area for even stock rigs. Check out this site for more info:

Wally is ready for this trip. Gonna haul the Eagle back from Rifle CO and tweak whatever pops up during and after that. I am now committed and have approved leave from work. HAWT DAYUM! Did I say we got reservations at the Cruces KOA?
