2009 "FSJ Enchilada" October 13th-16th Las Cruces, NM

I am updating this post as information comes about. Please check here for updated information.

Date Picked:

2009 2nd Annual FSJ Enchilada
Las Cruces, NM
October 13-16

Again we will be doing shirts thanks to Heimeken every driver that shows will get a shirt and there will be extras to purchase. They go quick so make sure you are there that day.

Also we are working on some other give aways to be later decided, giveaways are a lot of fun. If anyone has anything they can help out with please pm me or email 87redwag@sbcglobal.net.

Lets kick off the most important information.

We will be staying at the same spot as last year. The KOA in Las Cruces. I have been in contact with Leah the manager. You will need to contact her or the staff there to make your reservations. They will be reserving or holding the entire section like last year. Which was just fabulous.

Here is the contact informaion
You must mention you are with the International Fullsize Jeep Association, to get our group discounts and to be placed in our area. If you do not do that than you will not get the group rate. You will be charged for your fist night when you call. That will hold your spot.

Here is their website for contact information.

http://www.lascrucescampgrounds.com/

Once again, if anything changes or any additions need to be made I will add them here. Please watch the top of this post for any updates.

This will be the list of confirmations as of June 27th

1. Michael and Jodie
2. Tad and Emily
3. McJeep80

We really want to make it to the Enchilada this time Michael. Would have a day drive on either end of our trip so weekend or week doesn't matter that much if we can get the time off. Mid October works for us!

Hopefully I will have a Jeep ready for this event this year. Since I'm in the area, if you need anything, let me know.

I really like that middle of October time, perfect in the day and cool enough for a fire at night without having to freeze.

I should probably make a list of things to finish

I've been pretty much MIA since that run last year, as y'all may have noticed, but I plan on fully returning, I just can't say when. I bought some land, I'm working on getting a shop built with some living quarters in it, so I can really work on my toys. A couple welders, torches, huge air compressor, maybe a roof mounted hoist system, etc. Hopefully I'll get that done in advance for this trip, so I can fix my many problems, but we'll see as it gets closer. At the least, I'll bring Melodye and we'll both ride and take pictures for everyone. We'll see as time goes on. I'm trying to get this place built asap, so we'll see.

I'm just a little further ahead of you, but have had 2 years to get this far. With any luck I should be ready to make the October gig. I will have to find a new job, but in the meantime I have nothing but time to install what I have gathered and fabricate what's needed. That's unless I stay unemployed too long and end up wishing I left the roof on my Jeep.

What are the opinions on the dates. I was trying to kick out a couple like last year and a couple that would give us more time there (during the week). Also last year I was able to drive it in one day, but it was a beating on the way back so I am trying to give myself two days on both ends for travel. Let me know what you all think. It can go either way. I know you guys have opinions on this....

Oh and Sambo... you cannot scare me with the "Yota" my next one will be just that. Maybe you will motivate me.

The reason I like the 16-19th dates better is that I think it let's folks split there time off request between two seperate weeks, but that's the only reason.
I can do the 13-16th dates just as easily.

Okay well the reason I threw out those dates is because of my funky schedule. I like the middle of the week thing because of my travel arrangements and it will allow me to stay out there longer. I really could have used one or two more days last year.

We will just see what the poll says in a month or so...

Although we are very far off, I will get into contact with the KOA in the next month.

Hi guys,

I just bought a J10 and was looking for some events close to El Paso, TX and found this place. Is there a fee to pay or arrangements I need to do in order to attend this event? Count me in if is on 10/2 - 10/13. Let me know if any help is needed.

Thanks,

Alex R.

Alex,

No dude, just show up. This will be our 2nd official/non official trip out there as a group. Last year we had a great time and also had a few giveaways for attending. Hopefully we can do the giveaway stuff again. I hope you can make it, most of the rigs going will be from your general area. Maybe you should try to hook up with some of them to do a shake down run.

Keep checking this event page for any updates. There will be plenty as we get closer.
