    Intro and my 1st SJ!

Figured I've lurked here long enough and especially since I just picked up my first SJ from this forum.

Name is Omi and I'm from Miami. IT nerd at a college. The SJ below is my 10th Jeep but my first restoration project. I've been active in the Jeep community since 1999. It's a 1976 that was listed here out of NV and was finally picked up by the carrier and is finally on its way to me.

It's running, no rust on the chassis, and solid floorboards. Interior is shot, minor rust in the typical spots.

Plan is to stop the cancer it has, color change, and do the interior. It's going to take a while but it will be done.

Needless to say, I'm going to need advice from everyone here.

Glad to be here and TY.

Hey Omi! Always great to see another early Cherokee. That Jeep has a lot of potential, but I really hope you reconsider getting rid of that awesome original color scheme. Don't see too many like that anymore, and it would make the Jeep a real showstopper when restored.

Mine is yellow too. I hated it when I bought it but it totally grew on me. Now I would never color change it. Super awesome rig and great plan! These trucks make great cruisers AND are good off-road. Looking forward to seeing it come together!

Welcome and nice start Chero project. Looks good! The narrow cheros are my favorite cleanest looking FSJ body styles. I'm with "rangastan" the Lello paint is a great color. Keep it off the salt water beaches and it'll hold up nicely.
        Enjoy.

            Thanks everyone.

It should get here around next weekend.

Let's see if the yellow grows on me when it gets here. But I really like this look:
