    Frame dimensions

Would anyone on here have the factory frame dimensions or even better yet, a CAD drawing for an 83 Cherokee? I have the one out of the FSM but it only really shows the locations of the body mount measurements. Thanks.

Concur with Babywag. The 79 FSM has great drawings in it but when I looked at the early years of the FSJ (like late 60's early 70's) I could not find anything. I think you said you had an 83, right?
Go here Tom Collins Ol Jeep site and pull a few down and look through them. I believe the 79 and later chassis' are the same but not 100% sure on that.

BTW, sometimes the page displays odd and you have to scroll to the right to see the links to the downloads. If it loads with a row of buttons across the top, that's what's happening, the links are way over to the right.

My bad. It's an 83 Cherokee. I updated my post. Yes I have the TSM from his site but it doesn't show the actual frame measurements, just body mount location measurements.

Here is from the 79 Manual. The measurements are at the bottom. I assume you are looking more for things wheelbase, track width, etc. for a chassis swap, right? You an see body mount locations, Leaf spring mounts, and bumper bracket location.

You can get some of those measurements by doing a bunch of math. I will poke around in my picture file, I think I might have an exterior dimensions drawing somewhere that might include that stuff...

Just stumbled on this, too. If this guy made a 3D model, he may have exactly what you are looking for, too. Maybe hit him up?

That's interesting. I'll see if he has anything like that. I'm waiting to hear back from Ghinmi because he used a 67-72 Chevy truck frame under his so I'm wondering how close it is. I asked around and nobody has a chassis for a SJ except for Roadster shop. They did a one off custom frame for a guy but it's $40k and it's a lifted 4X4 chassis. Not exactly what I'm looking for. They're 2 years out for a custom frame. I'm not ready to tear into it yet so I'm researching as much as I can before I tear it apart. I might just have to build it myself.
