Blue smoke coming from and ratling noise

Today coming off the highway, and sitting at the light I noticed blue smoke blowing out a good bit.... I turned down the radio and was hearing a ratling noise coming from somewhere form the radio, engine started o idle rough and had no oil pressure at idle.

The only thing I had time to today was take off the valve covers, and everything looked good... I have no ideal whats going on.

edit.... heard a noise coming from the engine not the radio....

Last time mine did that it was the right side of engine giving up the ghost. Pistons were destroyed.

Yours may be nothing like that. Sounds as though you need to check compression for your rings though. If you indeed have no oil pressure then an oil pump rebuild would be nice. Maybe a complete engine going over. That is what made mine more enjoyable.

To me, sounds like that motor is living on borrowed time, but until you perform some basic diagnosis, then you will never know for sure.
