That speaker grill design with the wider bars and oval shape looks retro-cool!
That's exactly what I was thinking, JPSwapMohn. Very nice solution and should be the go to design whenever someone asks for a suggestion about what to do with the speaker hole in their dash. Nicely done, Bkilby!

OK Rang! Lol. I was thinking of doing the dash in green with black inserts but now I'm wavering a little on that. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet....

So.....trying to find the time to move on with this project, I went to West Coast Customs today. They're literally the next street over. I asked for a quote to paint the dash. A little body work and paint. The guy says the paint is the easy part, but it'll take 2 days to prep the dash for paint. $2500! Yup, $2500. WTF? They're charging $1000 a day for body work? Lol! Ok, that's not gonna happen. Gonna try a couple of other paint shops in the next few days. I'm about ready to take a crash course on body work and paint and do this myself. But I know nothing on both subjects. :-(

Yeah, I know. I really can do some body work and paint if I just get my head into it. Finding the time is the problem right now. But, with a $2500 quote, I'm feeling a bit motivated. Lol.

2 days to prep?!? Your dash isn't that messed up!!
If you look at the work Full Size Jeeper is doing on his Wagoneer, it's pretty amazing, and it's his first paint job. Look at his hood and fender here
For the money you are going to pay someone, you can buy a good gun (about $400) and all the supplies. Then when you are done, you still have the gun and left over supplies to do the little bits that will go with it.
shops like that slather everything with filler(needed or not)so takes 25x longer to "prep"&paint because they have to sand whole dash/then prime/sand/prime/paint.
watch the show sometimes great example what NOT to do.
I wouldn't be surprised if their prices a very high because of the vanity tax on being able to say it was done at WCC. I'd wait across the street until break time and follow one of the tattooed kids to their car and ask them what their price was for doing it in their garage.
I think $2500 is the ole we don't want to bother with it price.
