Had a couple big boxes show up today from BJ's off-road. I jumped the gun a tad on ordering these as the bed is far from ready to hang them.

They seem to be built better than the originals. They also have a lip/overlap that won't require the rusted out angle iron. I'm thinking of getting some aluminum plate and using it like a washer on the inside of the fenders lip for the mounting bolts.

I've been working about 60 hours a week since first of March and the truck is just sitting... When work slows down this summer I plan to get back at it. I did get a roll bar and some very good bed skirts from rocklaurence.

Got the new hat channel welded on in the original spots and the holes drilled for the bolts. Put the bed on the truck and moved it into the attached garage where I have room to work on it and walk around it.

Wow, really enjoyed the photos of this build.

they tell the whole story quickly and easily.

jealous of the skills and jealous that you are going to have

                a step side J-10 and i am not !!!

these things look like real life tonka toys ( or stompers )

especially the ones with bold body colors and the HONCHO graphics.

that was a dang good trade ( the chevy for the J-10 )

Thanks, I am hoping to make some progress on this thing once again. My new hours are 7-3:30 and it allows for a good amount of time in the evenings to get some stuff done.

Wow! i have been looking for a tailgate for over 1 1/2 years nobody on here ever mentioned Walck's. Amazing, the lack of communication amongst FSjeepers.

Well technically it's not a sportside tailgate. It's a Willy's pickup tailgate. However from what I have been told they are really similar. I don't have a factory sportside tailgate to compare to.

I think the whole bed , other than the fenders and trim pieces is just like an old Willy's bed, could be wrong but it would be like jeep to keep it cheap..
