    Midwest Invasion Date/Location

Several of you have expressed interest in a mid-west meet/greet. Well we have finally decided on dates and a location. We are meeting at the Shades State Park in Indiana starting September 27th through the 29th. A link to the park, along with available campsites can be found here: http://indianastateparks.reserveamer...ex=CampingSpot As of today, there are really only 3 sites left in the "Jeep area" #067-069. This park will put us within driving distance (~35 miles) to The Badlands.

We hope to see you all there.

How about a meet in Missouri?

We could camp at Jadwin Canoe Rental near Salem Missouri http://www.jadwincanoe.com/index.html The float trips on the Current River are really nice. This river is kid friendly. I highly suggest renting kayaks for kids over 10.

For those that need Air Conditioning, Barton's Lodging is within walking distance of Jadwin Canoe rentals. This place has a bunch of old trailers that will do the job. You will not spend alot of money staying here. http://www.yelp.com/biz/bartons-lodging-jadwin

Those that want to wheel could go to Flat Nasty Offroad Park. http://www.flatnasty.com/?page_id=22

Those that want to fish could go to Montauk State Park.
Montauk State Park preserves a shady green retreat that offers visitors plenty of opportunities for fun, whether it is fishing, camping, hiking, picnicking or just relaxing with friends and family. The park is located at the headwaters of the famed Current River. The park’s springs combine with tiny Pigeon Creek to supply more than 40 million gallons of water to the river each

New midwestern FSJ owner here, in to see what this is all about.

What constitutes "midwest" as far as this event is concerned?

So far the meets have all been in KY with the exception of southern IN last fall.

Just a thought, but we have a Scrambler forum and folks have a lot of luck doing Scrambler-specific gatherings tied to another general Jeep/offroad event. The FSJ folks could stay/gather together, take part in whatever people want to do at the larger event and do their own thing for part of the time as well.

We did this very successfully at the Tidewater Fourwheelers annual event in Oak Ridge VA (not suggesting that location here, just giving the example) where we had a full trail ride each year (and more than one a couple years with bigger Scrambler turnouts). The Scrambler folks that didn't stay in the one hotel all camped together in the main camping area, gathered together each morning, and had a group dinner one night. Our trail group was always the biggest draw in the staging area in a sea of TJs/LJs/JKs. You know a crew of FSJs would be the same deal.

That way there's more of a draw for folks to come and it's less organizing that you have to do because there's already things planned, it would just be a matter of figuring out what the group wanted to do/not do/do together. Kind of cool to have a bunch of other folks drooling all over your rigs too

I don't have any ready suggestions for a suitable event, just passing on my personal experience with a way to do something similar.

I'm in for the current river if there happens to be a meet in that area. It's great there.

Ummmm......the idea is to have the meet in the United States. Besides, don't you only get a couple of weeks above freezing there each year???

Come on folks....all ideas on date/location are welcomed. Has anyone visited the Badlands? It appears that there is a campground just outside the front gate.
