    Frustrated is not the word!

I finally got the time to start calling salvage yards to try and find a donor for some misc. parts. Living in sw. fl. does not help because not too many fsj's rolling around. I thought I had a lead when one place said they had a '79 grand cherokee w/ a 360 that ran and drove! When the guy went to check on it for me he was sorry to inform me that they HAD it but they had crushed it just last week!!! guess it was more valuable as scrap. Probably a good thing because wife probably would have divorced me if I drove home w/ another heap!

Actually, you could have sold it for a mint due to it's rarity! Grand Cherokees didn't start until about 1993 and the Grand Wagoneer didn't start until '84.

Up here most of the FSJ's have been reduced to small piles rust.

It would not surprise me if the yard told him that.. some of the ones around here do not have GW or wagoneer at all in their systems so it is either a cherokee or a grand cherokee.
I have had the opposite happen. System said it was a GW and it turned out to be an XJ wagoneer.. a 45 minute drive wasted.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

Well, they did make Wagoneer XJ's, and Grand Wagoneer ZJ's.... Both even came with the woodgrain pannels...

My wifes wheeling rig is a 93 ZJ Grand Wagoneer..

Cookie, don't take any offense. Many of us, including myself, have a laugh when the Big Boys are refered to as the little ones. After you make a few trips to the local parts stores you will understand. What parts are you needing? Also, as for the wife the best advice I can give is always have a friend with a big back yard. They make great hiding places for FSJs.

Cookie, please realize it's all in fun and these are good and knowledgable guys that have helped guys like you and me and countless others through some headaches...just ribbin the new guy...Any way,I'm about an hour and a half north of you, have you tried anything this far up?? there are a couple places in Punta Gorda and Sarasota I have heard are good (I have been fortunate enough not to have HAD to make a trip -would like to go one day just to play though...) Chuck's and Zimmermans are the ones in PG, can't think of the name of the one in Sarasota off the top of my head...

Most of this seems good natured, and is educational, as well. A FSJ owner should know that Grand Cherokee does not apply to a FSJ, it is a different weasel altogether. And the added part about the Grand Wagoneer is something that is often messed up, too. If I was going around calling my '79 or '80 a Grand Cherokee, I'd hope to be informed before saying it too many times.

If my post is some folks' idea of flaming, I'd hate to live near you with your ultra-high morals and standards.... <--- the little smileys might be a tip-off to the internet savvy.
