    Heretic Jku frame swap

So I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a jku frame and modifying it to drop my sj body onto.

A thought Ive mostly kept to myself since many people can't fathom the fact that a 2 door sj and a jku are extremely close in size and weight

Anyway I vocalize this thought on a jeep page after seeing all these horrendous jku gladiator clip conversations people have been making. Someone commented that the jku frame had already been done by someone on here.

Now I've used my searching abilities and have not found a thread on ifsja covering that swap. But I would be very interested in finding it if it does exist.... Does this ring a bell to anyone? Links to the thread?

I don't recall seeing that here or on the other site.

Seems like a win-win. Get a decent looking body on the H4 frame and a modern drivetrain and suspension on the the SJ.

Wasn't this build done on a JK chassis?

I thought they grafted the suspension on the Cherokee frame.

No what they did was keep the Cherokee frame and then swapped in a jku long radius arm kit and rub axles. That was what I wanted to do initially but then I started toying around with the idea of a whole jku frame

I say go for it! I think it's an awesome idea. My wife's JKU is almost the exact same size as my Cherokee so I don't think much, if any, frame modifications will be needed other than body mounts. I'd swap in a larger engine, though. The 3.8 is a turd and the new, more powerful, 3.6 isn't much better.
