do you have an idea of what track width i'd have tith the 13.5 inch wide iroks and 3.5" backspacing. i think all ford front d60 might be the same width, like 69" i think.

I think it is like 80-82 inches form outside edge to outside edge? I would have to measure it agian to tell you for sure.

I'd judge it on what kind of trails you are going to be going on.. if they are tight I would probably run the 4.5" if you have a lot of room to roam then I might go 3.5"

Or if you are like me and running a 15" rim you would go with 2.75" uber wide...

Check out the clearance issue with the frd dana 60 dual piston caliper. The lower bolt that holds it together is 1/8? out and 1/8? in from the inside diameter of my 16?x 8? wheel with 4 ½? back spacing. That?s a little too close for me. I am thinking about 17? wheels with 4 ½? bs.

what size rim? 16 or 17? If 17s, I'd go max you can, 4.5+ to keep the width down and improved turning radius.

hmm, ok guys so i want to run a 17 but i also want it to be a hair wide so i have a good center of gravity. so i'm thinking 3.5". also just for the time being, i want to tool from my shop to my house to use my welder, can i put my 38.5x14.50R15 on a set of 15x8 really offset rims i have laying around. they clear the calipers, but i just want to put the tire on to drive less than a mile to my house. i know its a wid e tire for a 8" rim. but am i really going to die from it?

You should be fine if the wheels clear the calipers. That's the biggest issue. As far as mounting a 14.5" tire on an 8" rim, you should be fine, it'll pinch the tires some, but with 38.5s you have so much sidewall you won't really notice it all that much. I'd say your bigger safety concern is going to be tooling around with no roof and cage until I get up there. By the way, I'll give you a call and let you know my detailed schedule in a couple days.
