    Hate to ask..

81 j10 727 with low range. Have an output seal leaking. Trying to order parts, I'm a couple states away from it so can can't just crawl under it. What TC should be under there?

It could also be a NP219. Can you share a picture of the flag shifter handle? It will have the shift pattern on it.

Did the NP219 come with factory manual locking hubs?

Agreed, a part time setup from that era should have an NP208 behind a 727. My '85 J20 does and the parts catalog indicates the same thing for your '81 J10.

Jeep part numbers for output shaft seals (where the driveshaft yokes exit the transfer case) are 83504434 for the front and 83502508 for the rear. Those cross-reference at RockAuto to SKF numbers 18771 front and 18662 (or Timken/National 3946) rear.

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

Thank you gents. I'm still pretty far away from it. I'll order those seals and hopefully they are waiting for me when I get some home time.
