    best guess

next gen RAM platform, big brother to the Grand Cherokee. It better be a little more dynamic than this sketch to fly in the $90k plus crowd.

Just hope it doesn't make it harder to buy parts on Ebay........ I wouldn't touch that abomination with Ristow's 10 foot pole.

            HAHAHAHA!!!! Maybe a Durangoneer?

Seriously, did they even change anything other than delete the "Dodge"? I guess they moved the gas filler door and added dual exhaust tips, so its pretty much a completely new design.

Did the design patent mention Wagoneer by name? If not, that might be something else - a 3 row Grand Cherokee by chance?
I don't know offhand what I'd want a new Wag to look like but that sure as hell isn't it.
Needs to be body on frame, IFS is a given, IRS is a solid bet I'd think, v8 or turbo 6 in front... It's got a lot of name and a lot of competition to live up to.

I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.

A Jeep hasn't really been a Jeep since Chrysler came along. A few years of AMC designs and then a steady decline in capability. Of course they ride a lot better and get better fuel mileage, but those aren't really Jeep characteristics.

Not as bad as I feared, certainly meets the brand image they're going for. But no vintage styling. Quiters.

Well, don't forget quadradrive 2 or the Rubicon editions.. but yes, the Liberty, Renegade, Compass and Patriot all prove your point for you.

It'd be nice if they actually came out with a throwback model, sort of like the current muscle cars from the big three. Didn't they have a concept recently that looked like a Gladiator/J Series truck? Why not bring something like that out? I'm sure it would sell, probably great for the first couple of years, then go from there. NO, Instead they'd rather focus on the current cookie cutter designs that look like every other boring standard "SUV"(more like CROSSOVER) that's out there today. that.

This thing is pitched towards the yuppie types living in places like Boulder, CO who buy SUVs for their prestige and to haul them and all their designer ski gear up to the ski resort. They currently drive Mercedes-Benz GLK's and Range Rovers. Think they give a crap about how much it looks like the old Grand Wagoneer? No. They care about whether it can drive itself and how "smart" it is. They basically want to drive around inside a smart phone with wheels that shows off how much wealth they have. Most of them aren't even old enough to know what a Wagoneer is aside from that weird thing in the Eddie Bauer catalogs.

Honestly, I am ok with it being a completely new and not necessarily a throw back. It would be cool it they at least threw us a bone, though. Maybe re-use our badges, have a wood accent on the outside, etc. Maybe a hardcore package called a GW Gladiator or GW Kaiser that would do to the GW what Raptor does to F150?

I think if they tried to do a throwback to our FJSs, they would botch it. The only throwbacks I personally like are Challenger, Mini, and FJ Cruiser. If they did one for Wagoneer/GW, we would all hate it.
