I have dealt with BJ's off road several times. I have only experianced one minor problem and that was getting 2 left marker lights instead of a left and a right with my last order. No big deal I am sure they will make it right. I normaly get my products one day earlier than what they say.I have no complaints about their service or products I will gladly continue to do buisness with them and continue to give out referals for their products and services.
I am second in charge of a small buisness and know that even though we do our best to get back to people we cant always do it as fast as they want us too.You cant please everyone all of the time no matter how hard you try and thats just the way it goes sometimes in the small buisness world.
I have had more trouble getting my orders from Advanced Auto and Napa or Car Quest than I ever have with BJ's

      Umm...Wow.
Ralph, name calling doesn't work here. It only tarnishes your reputation.
With most relatively new small businesses that ARE successful, growing pains are sure to follow.
There are few companies available to us that have the FSJ specific parts that we need. I have done a little business with the others...But, most of my business has been through BJ's.
Of all the transactions that I have had with BJ's, there was just one that was negative. And, that was with my new Cliffhanger front bumper. I think I may have ordered one of the first production bumpers. The bumper had been welded crooked...Sent an email with pics to Ryan. He called me that evening...A new bumper was sent as soon as it was fabbed.
Other than that, BJ's has come thru when I needed the parts.

I'll admit, I did not read all the rants.....have bought from BJs with no problems. Have met Ryan, he is a cool guy. I am sure they can not carry all the inventory they list. We can all always improve.

My advise,....be happy you can buy parts for these old rigs and have some patience. That is all.

The first thing I ever bought for my FSJ was from BJs...$500 worth of weatherstripping and carpet. They called me within a few hours of submitting my order online to see what color carpet I needed and to let me know that it would ship seperatly and arrive later. Personally, I couldn't have been happier and everything arrived exactly when they said it would. They were also quick to reply to a billing question that I sent them as well.
Overall, I'd recommend them and will be buying more stuff from them in the future!

I have never had a problem with bjs offroad, I think what lot of people tend to forget is that these Vehicles are not chevys or fords..and Parts are just not being manufactured everyday and all the time because of demand Just my .02cents

I've purchase from BJ's several times and any issues were quickly taken care of. They are easy to deal with and know the products.
I have to give them a double thumbs up for the "Chat" feature on their web site. How cool is it, to talk to someone while you're browsing their catalog?
It's not the situation, it's how you react to it.

Ralph? I thought since you decided to air your dirty laundry in public, instead of emaing myself or Ryan -- or talk to Matt on the phone -- that you would at least respond...

Also, would you like me to call you on Monday?

                Thanks!

Everytime I order from BJ's, it has shipped the same day and got it in exactly the same timeframe each time. When I ordered my rims/tires, Ryan was quick to follow up and even got them shipped out same day so I could have them for the weekend. No complaints here.
Honey?? What happened to the savings account? You bought a Jeep what??

Every new part on my Chero that didn't come from Autodrone came from BJ's - and from my experience, they rock! I even made one really stupid order while I was frustrated. Then I came to my senses & emailed Ryan, he cancelled the order for me. The online customer service chat feature is second to none, period. Nobody else does that! Everything I've ordered from BJ's shipped within 24hrs, except the brake lines took a couple of days to be manufactured. Only part that sucks is I have to wait so long for UPS to get here from the metro Seattle area. I haven't bought any major items like bumpers though, cuz I build my own bulletproof ones

                      Overall I give BJ's

I've been a customer service rep most of my life and can tell you, that most reputable companies will do whatever it takes to hang onto a customer.

We don't always succeed and with the line of business I'm in now, there are some customers that leave and trust me. They are not missed.

We've been buying from BJ's Offroad for a couple of years now. Had one item damaged in transit. Shot off an e-mail and a week later, we received our part.

Zero issues on our end. Communication as always been good. Products have all been as described and very nice quality.

I'm actually supprised to read such a negative post about BJ's... I've bought at least a couple $k worth of parts from BJ's over the past few years and they have always been kool with me. My parts have always arrived in a timely manner (as a mater of fact they have busted tail to get a package out to me that I needed within a certain time frame a couple of times) and they've even replaced a part that got lost in shipping... if thats not good customer service, then I have no clue what is. I for one will continue to purchase from them and recommend them to any one needing FSJ parts.

                          Cheers.

I "aired it out" on this public forum because this is, and always has been, the marketplace in which BJ's operates. If it were not for the very good people here, the business would probably not have grown and survived.

Ryan knows (because we exchanged heated PM's about it a few years ago, when he first started BJ's) that I have always been guarded about the use of this forum as a personal cash cow (e.g., free advertising). This was originally a club website (I'm member #34, by the way), and I resented it being used for commercial pusposes. Even so, I am glad their are vendors who cater to FSJ interests, as do BJ's Offroad and Team Grand Wagoneer and ZMJeeps.

Yes, they're cool guys. I've met Ryan twice: in January 2002 to buy a set of FSJ doors at his home, and again in June 2004 at the East Coast FSJ event. I met Brent when he came to a Ouray FSJ gathering a couple years back. I could be friends with them on any level, I'm sure.

But this is business. This vendor let me down in a huge way, and I want their customers to know that.

Ryan, Brent, Matt; please stop trying to call me. I have nothing to say to you, and I don't want to hear anything you have to say. We're finished doing business together; it's that simple.

I'm still stewing about last weekend. It raises my hackles just to think about it. I just got off the phone with Sue at Team Grand Wagoneer to make sure the parts will arrive before I return to Jacksonville Friday, where again I've paid for a hotel room and all.

(BTW, I'm writing from the Lakewood, FL, home of Reuben Hernandez, aka "Narnian," another early member of this forum. I'm here repairing his accident-damaged Cherokee. He says hello to everyone.)

Ralph, we're calling you to follow up, as that is what good customer service is about (even calling mad customers, or former-customers). Also, I'm calling to give you the address to send the tailgate panel back to and to find out where you want the return funds sent (again, so you don't have to keep a part that is what you consider worse than a junkyard part).

As for letting you down in a big way, we tried to contact you on several occasions to let you know about parts that were discontinued, so in all truthfulness, you should restate that to read "the manufacturer's let me down in a big way" as it wasn't anything we did or had control over. The fact that you never answered when we called or left a message when you called back, well, that also wasn't us letting you down.

The IFSJA has helped with our business growth but the huge growth came with the episode of Trucks! We asked for and finally got this Vendor forum which has been great as it gives us a proper place to post.

Ralph, be honest, you NEVER suported our business, you always would post complaints on how we were posting new products and would always steer people to other directions, like the Jeep dealer. Also, I am not implying that every customer isn't valuable, but you have purchased a total of less than $100 since you became a customer in 2003.

Now, this is what I don't understand, how come you call them to make sure the parts aren't going to be there but you won't return our phone calls and when you do, you don't leave a message?

This is all water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. I would have preferred to handle this a different way, phone call or email or whatever but I have lost a lot of respect for you and I think other people have too (again, going back to the 'jackwad comment' - which you didn't bother to comment on or apologize for).
