front axle swap question

I ma looking for a dana 44 or 60 front axle for the front of my 69 j-3000. The rear axle is a dana 60, with 5 on 5.5 lug pattern. What donor truck can i get the front axle from with disc and the same bolt pattern?

a front d60 will be 8 lug. the pre 80 ford half ton front d44s have the same 5x5.5 lug pattern to match the rear. but, i'm pretty sure the spring perches would have to be moved.

Those wouldn't work either- the ferds have a drivers drop whereas he needs a pax drop. An early 80s dodge truck dana 44 will work- member Josh D did a swap to his 71 J2000.

I'd say that you would be best off with a GM D44 or 10b converted to 5 lug using Ford parts, or a Dodge D44 which has the same 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern.

For a D60, I know you can get 6 lug hubs, maybe you can get 5 lug hubs as well. Probably not worth spending that much money though.
