    My daughter is a soldier!

    Wooo Hooooo!!!

Last week the Mrs., my son, my parents, and I all traveled to Fort Jackson SC to watch my daughter graduate Basic Combat Training (BCT, boot camp). What an awesome trip.

Day one was "Family Day". We got to hang out with her all day, on base, and check out the places she trained and what she did. It started with a super cool ceremony where they marched out of a huge smoke display into view in their OCP uniform (the camo). I had goose bumps seeing them show up. At the end of the day, we brought her back to her barracks and, as a surprise to us, she was given a meritorious advancement for her "demonstrated leadership during BCT". We have gone through some REALLY awful times with her and I have never heard anyone use the word "Leader" or "Leadership" when speaking on my daughter. I was crying like a little baby.

Day two was actual graduation. Hearing all 200'ish soldiers reciting the soldiers creed was AMAZING and I had goose bumps through the whole thing.

Sorry for the rant; I had to do some bragging.

Congratulations to your Army daughter! Thank you for serving our country. There are thousands of teenagers (my Dad said I had a bad attitude when I was 17) who become awesome adults in this wonderful country of ours. I agree Woo Hoo!

The smiles speak a thousand words. How proud you must be.
Rang, would you please tell her "thank you for serving our country" as my wife and I are truly grateful.

                    Marc,...

I loved the story about your daughter.

the world needs more families like yours, especially now.

strong bonds and good life lessons come from the family circle.

good moms and dads who set good examples give a child the things they need

                    too make the world better...

let her know all the folks at IFSJA are proud of her......and you.
