    Fender interchangeability - what years

Getting my 88 GW painted and need to replace the left front fender. A few local wrecking yards have wagoneers, but all older than mine. How far back can I go and still have the fender fit my 88?

Also, is there anyone out there making after market fenders for the GW? A shot in the dark I know, but can't hurt to ask

yeah, they pretty much all bolt on. The differences are in mounting holes for emblems, trim, and wood trim. Cherokee wide track and J truck fenders will bolt on but are pretty different so avoid those.

IIRC the '70-73s with a cheese grater have a big chunk taken out of the leading edge of the fender to accommodate the chrome flanking the grille. Likely should avoid those. Except for your exact year, the rest likely will have or lack minor perforations that you'll need to address. But the overall shape and dimensions of the narrow track fenders are the same for the whole run.
