V8 intake manifolds

I have two factory 4 bl intakes. Ones a spread bore and the other is the 4 hole square design. Does one flow better then the other? Never used a spread bore manifold before but I assume it's for a specific carb type? Does an Edelbrock SP2 flow significantly better then these?

I'm building a 304 and have a set of ported heads with SBC valves in them that I intend to use on this engine. Will be built for low RPM use but will use headers, HEI and possibly EFI. In front of a 4 speed most likely in a CJ8.

The aftermarket manifold will flow better than the factory manifold, generally. It's supposed to be a performance part.

If you go with a factory iron manifold, get the square one. The spread bore only works with a Motorcraft 4350 carb. You'll have many choices in carburetors with the square pattern.

The SP2P works great on the 304. I say go with a square bore also.
