This forum has a few issues that can really ruin your day. Beware!
Some new members may not be aware that this site will automatically log you out after a period of inactivity. This includes you sitting there typing up a very long post, only to have it possibly disappear when you hit "submit". Typing up your post in Notepad first, or copying your post to the clipboard before you hit submit will save you plenty of time and lower your blood pressure a bit. The keyboard combo to copy the post is CTRL-A, then CTRL-C, and CTRL-V will paste it back if you lose it. On a Mac, replace CTRL with the clover key. Make it a habit.
Incomplete Posts After Submission
If you are posting from an Android device, Apple phone, iPad, or possibly even a Macintosh, and use an apostrophe in your post, be sure to copy or save the post before you hit submit. Certain keyboard layouts do not use a standard apostrophe, and this interferes with the forum software, causing everything after the first 'poison' apostrophe it encounters to be lost
. Your post will show up as incomplete. If you have this issue, remove all
of the bad apostrophes and submit your post again.
