New to Forum and to FSJ's

Thanks for having me. Well into retirement age but self-employed now. Lots of my fun over the years was motorcycles but now have a new project. A sad 1976 J-10 that was going to be a 12V Cummins swap for previous owner. That vision continues as I have found a P-pump 12 valve from pusher motor home and it is now mated to 4r100 and transfer case from Ford Excursion. Have acquired Dana 60 rear and hi-pinion 44 for front. I am not a mechanic but a fair go-fer. Have a restoration shop doing the work and a 2 man "advisory board" standing by with advice&support in exchange for hops&barley. Scattered over the shop now but will take pictures as we proceed. Will be asking questions...

Cummins conversions in anything are very interesting to see. Those motors are something else. I picked up an 01 dodge with a hopped up 24 valve from a friend this last summer for towing a camper. Crazy stupid power and it makes me grin every time.
For engine questions if you ever have any, check out the Turbo Diesel Register. They have a section for your 1st generation 12 valves. The people are very helpful and the knowledge there is stunning. That site was voted best Cummins resource on the internet a while back. Please post up some pictures of your project. And welcome. There are some really great folks here. Well all of em to be honest.

Sweet! Sounds great! Will this be more of a daily driver/weekend cruiser that goes offroad, a trail rig, or other?

The plan is to be daily driver. I tow trailers a few miles at least once a week. Once or twice a month tow a gooseneck with skid loader and attachments. I wonder if I will get any looks at the sight (and sound) of that?

It's kind of a PITA to post pics. here are some how-to's.
I've noticed some threads come up about people having problems posting photo's to the site here. I have always found it pretty easy, but I figure I can show others (with pictures;) )how I do it, and maybe we can get some more pics of some kick ass Jeeps here! Generally, this process should work the same way from other 3rd party

Test J-10 pic

This seems to be the best I can do. Will have to work some more to post pictures Maybe these links will work

J-10 on truck on trailer coming to me. The black stuff is a home made polyurethane coat. The axles from 3/4 ton chevy have been removed for the Dana's I mentioned earlier.

The two pics are the 12V Cummins, 4r100, and transfer case. It's long as a well rope.

I see your links and when I click on them, they work.

So the last thing to make them work is instead of clicking the button with the earth and chain, click the yellow square button to the right of it with the mountain and sun. Then paste the exact same link in there. You should see you post start with . I copied your link into those brackets here:

Your truck looks AWESOME!! It doesn't look sad; It looks hopeful! Looking forward to seeing it come together!

That is a cool looking truck.
I love those rims on the Jtrucks too.
(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

Jeeper and Asphalt--thanks. I think it will be fun. I am assuming the rims on the truck are Dodge truck OE rims. I kinda like them but have something else in mind. Will see...

Meantime, I have a question. I am not very experienced in forums. Should I post future progress in another thread? For instance, diesel swaps? Or, do moderators move things around?

thank you
