    no dash lights

seems when you search for "dash lights not working" everyone has dash gauges that dont work, and how to troubleshoot those issues. my problem is that my dash gauges work but the dash lights don't. i have headlights but nothing inside. when i bought the jeep the dash lights worked but only if the dimmer was in a certain position. now i get nothing. my guess without checking is that the switch is shot. what do you think? thanks Tim

        Start with the easy stuff.

        1. Check the fuse. Little effort required here.

        2. Check the dimmer. You mentioned a quirky dimmer, so that may be the culprit. A new dimmer is fairly inexpensive, so it wouldn't hurt to replace it.

        3. Check the bulbs. Are they burned out or missing?

        4. Check the wiring. Look for corroded or broken connections, and shorts in the wires. Start at the connection points (fuse block, switches, junctions, splices), as those are the most likely areas of damage.
