My hero... and a picture to prove it!

If any of you have been following the tale of my woes concerning my electrical issues, I finally got the waggy back from the shop on Saturday. The mechanic had it three weeks before solving the problem. Long story short, it was a short in the wiring harness.

I spent Saturday as a happy guy, driving my rig all over Fort Lauderdale. You couldn't wipe the grin from my face. Three months of hard work to get her on the road, and I was finally there!

Well, that lasted all of 24 hours as I woke up Sunday and started her up to an extremely loud ticking noise. Oh boy... here we go! Fortunately, my new best friend Jake, owner of Jake's FSJ Junkyard, Tanker here on the forum, happened to be in town. Our plan was to meet for dinner. Instead, we met at the parking lot where I shut the waggy down after the tick became a loud banging sound. Jake, who I have never met before, waited with me until AAA showed up (he even offered his AAA card for the tow), which took an hour and half, then came to my house and proceeded to help me tear down the top end of the motor. He was with me until 11pm last night, even though he was scheduled to leave at the crack of dawn this morning for his home in North Carolina.

Bottom line, my cam and several lifters are wiped out. Thanks to Jake, I now have a clear and concise path to rebuild her, and with a little luck, I will be back on the road within a week.

Hey Jake, I can't thank you enough for taking the time from your vacation to help me out and cool my frustration down. The picture was taken about 11:30pm last night, after some crappy pizza and several hours of tear down and diagnosis. I am on the left, Jake is on the right.

    Need a new 360!
